COLLEGE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Chandler, Moorpark Stop Ventura

Amy Chandler had a triple-double to lead the Moorpark College women’s basketball team to a 65-60 Western State Conference win over visiting Ventura on Wednesday.
Chandler, a 5-foot-6 sophomore transfer from Cal Lutheran, scored a career-high 27 points and had 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
Chandler also made six free throws in the last two minutes to help Moorpark (22-3, 2-0) withstand a comeback by Ventura (15-10, 2-1).
After trailing by as many as 20 points, Ventura cut the margin to three in the final minute.
Lonnette Hall led Ventura with 16 points and Marli Mactal had 14, Karry Wagoner 13 and Venessa Hackett 11.
Moorpark’s Donna Houck scored 14.
