Beginning this week through March 25, the city of Los Angeles will expand its recycling program to about 24,000 households in the North Central Collection District.
Fourteen-gallon yellow recycling bins will be delivered to residents in the Highland Park, Lincoln Heights, Montecito Heights, Hollywood, Eagle Rock, Echo Park, Silver Lake, and Elysian Park areas.
Since the program began in 1989, recycling bins have been distributed to about 120,000 households. By 1993, the curbside recycling program will include 720,000 households.
