An unarmed security guard went to the aid of two victims of a Los Angeles street robbery near the Coliseum and was shot and critically wounded by one of the muggers, authorities said Friday.
Ramundo Lopez and Blanco Nunez were robbed at gunpoint about 9:25 p.m. Thursday by an unknown number of gunmen. A short time later, Jeronimo Pastor, 27, confronted the gunmen in the southeast parking lot at 41st and Figueroa street. Pastor, unarmed, was shot once in the head.
He was taken to County-USC Medical Center where he was in grave condition, Lt. Joe Ramm said. No suspects were in custody.
