Water Conservation

Thanks to the Lord for the rains needed by trillions of plants, grasses, flowers, bushes, trees, etc. Yes, I hope that we are saving all the water we can from our streets, highways, homes, kitchens, businesses, institutions, etc.
But we could save even more by letting dead leaves, grasses, etc. accumulate on the soil in our parks, lawns, etc. to absorb the moisture and provide humus for plant life. Indeed, it is a waste of manpower and tax dollars to rake up the piles of leaves and grass lying on our top soil desperately needed to prevent soil erosion!
