‘Toon Time: CBS will launch an animated series featuring some of cartoon-doms best-known characters April 17, the network said Thursday. “Toon Night” will inherit the 8 p.m. Wednesday time slot, debuting with “Bugs Bunny: Overtures to Disaster.” Subsequent episodes will star the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the “Peanuts” gang and Garfield the Cat. For the opening show, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam and Sylvester join Bugs in performing a symphonic concert and generally creating operatic chaos. New animation will be combined with Chuck Jones-directed memorable “Looney Toon” cartoons, including “The Wabbit of Seville” and “What’s Opera, Doc?”
