Jamal Farmer, a University of Hawaii running back and former Granada Hills High standout, will miss spring practice because of a broken right foot. Farmer sustained the injury Nov. 17 in a game against Wyoming, but only this week did X-rays reveal the fracture.
Farmer, who set an NCAA freshman record in 1989 with 19 touchdowns, will be in a cast for as many as eight weeks. The 5-foot-10, 220-pound sophomore rushed for 676 yards and nine touchdowns last season after rushing for 986 yards as a freshman.
