Body Is Discovered in Bag in Lancaster

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department detectives were investigating a body found in a bag in a remote area of Lancaster Monday afternoon.
The body was found about 5 p.m. on 240th Street East and Avenue J by the side of the road, Deputy Hal Grant said.
The identity and sex of the victim and the cause of death were not immediately known.
