Peace on the TV Front: Peace has been declared in a controversy over TV coverage of “Hollywood’s Welcome Home Desert Storm Parade” on May 19. KTLA Channel 5’s plans for exclusive coverage raised the ire of other local stations who view the parade as a news event they should cover. KTLA on Tuesday said that “in response to the enormous interest” in the parade, any local station may televise it live, without a license fee. KTLA general manager Steve Bell said, “we need to put the focus back where it belongs--on the troops returning from the Persian Gulf.”
