From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Polish President Lech Walesa said the Soviet Union should be dissolved and its people allowed to form a new union. Walesa, addressing a conference of young European politicians in London, said the union should be based on “principles of freedom, voluntary access and logic--not on coercion.” The Polish leader also warned the West that it could face mass migration from Eastern Europe unless it helps former Communist countries revive their economies. Walesa is making the first state visit to Britain by a Polish head of state since World War II.
