WORLD IN BRIEF : WASHINGTON : Americans Urged to Leave Ethiopia

The U.S. State Department said it is ordering all embassy dependents and non-essential personnel out of Ethiopia because of recent rebel advances near Addis Ababa, the capital. Department spokesman Richard Boucher said all private Americans are being urged to leave the African country as soon as possible. About 600 private Americans are in Ethiopia; 28 U.S. government employees are still there.
