A man shot in the stomach during an argument last week died Friday as the search for his killer continued, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
Billy Ray Cooper, 46, of the Tujunga area, was shot once in the stomach shortly after midnight on April 19 while in his apartment in the 70000 block of Foothill Boulevard, Sgt. Gene Fretheim said.
Cooper and the gunman, who is believed to be a Tujunga man known by the moniker “Cuz,” had argued earlier at a nearby bar, Fretheim said. Cooper, who underwent surgery at Verdugo Hills Hospital in Glendale, died there early Friday.
