Fillmore, Moorpark May Switch Leagues

Fillmore and Moorpark highs have completed the first step toward changing leagues in all sports beginning in 1992-93.
If the releaguing proposal adopted by Northern Area schools Friday is approval in the fall by the Southern Section, Moorpark, which is currently in the Tri-Valley League, will switch places with Frontier League member Fillmore.
The move was approved at Bishop Diego High on Friday by a panel of administrators. No other league membership changes were recommended for the two-year releaguing cycle that runs through the 1993-94 school year.
The Northern Area consists of the Channel, Frontier, Marmonte, Los Padres, Northern and Tri-Valley leagues. The switch was prompted by the burgeoning enrollment at Moorpark, one of the fastest-growing communities in the Southland.
“Everyone agreed that it makes more sense,” said Westlake Athletic Director Jack Loritz.
