OXNARD : College Student Wins Logo Contest
- Share via
The Oxnard Redevelopment Agency selected a still-life motif created by Oxnard College student Barbara Obermier as the official logo for the downtown Farmer’s Market, which will open June 13 at the corner of 7th and B streets across from Heritage Square. The market will operate every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Obermier, who received a $200 bond, placed first among 45 entrants. The logo will be printed on T-shirts and posters promoting the market, Redevelopment Agency spokeswoman Rosemary Leigh said.
City officials said they will alter Obermier’s logo slightly to include local crops. Instead of apples and grapes, it will feature strawberries and oranges.
Runners-up Carey Molter and Richard Vila, both Santa Clara High School students, received $100 bonds.
