Anton’s Salary Cut
So Supt. Bill Anton plans to return 10% of his salary to the Los Angeles Unified School District (Metro, May 2). How touching. At his salary, he can afford it. Well, listen up, Bill! If that’s the first step in a plan to fool teachers into accepting cuts, forget it. We aren’t that stupid and we work too hard.
Try another tactic. Go to Sacramento. Talk to the legislators. Help them reorder their priorities. Tell them the children need their school psychologists and their nurses and, yes, even their teachers. Dare to mention money and taxes. Our children are worth it.
