Long Lost Brother: Actor Michael Caine, recently stunned to learn he has an older brother kept hidden by his mother in a mental hospital for more than 40 years, has vowed to take care of his sibling. The actor’s mother, Ellen Maria Burchell, secretly visited her older son, David, until she died in 1989. Caine said that his mother used to say she was going to visit a cousin who was mentally ill. “She did a really good cover-up,” he told the London Daily Mirror. David, 66, was released from the hospital about 18 months ago.
