Herazo Sets National Walk Mark

Victoria Herazo of Newhall set a U. S. race-walk road record Sunday in the national 15-kilometer championships in Portland, Ore.
Herazo’s time of 1 hour 11 minutes 12 seconds bettered the old record of 1:12:07 set by Lynn Weik in 1987. Herazo, 31, won the race by nearly three minutes.
With the win, Herazo qualified for the World Cup on June 1 in San Jose, Calif.
