THOUSAND OAKS : Forum on Gangs to Be Held Tonight

A gang awareness forum, featuring a panel discussion by law enforcement officers, is scheduled tonight at the East Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Representatives of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, the Simi Valley and Oxnard police departments and the California Youth Authority will present information on gangs at the forum sponsored by the Conejo Council PTA.
Sheriff’s Deputy Dave Wareham said parents will learn telltale signs that their child may be in trouble.
The forum will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the community room of the station at 2101 E. Olsen Road in Thousand Oaks. There is no charge for admission, and the event is open to the public.
