“Artists and the Community,” a panel discussion on the multicultural arts in Los Angeles, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. next Thursday in Room 257 of the Technology Building at Santa Monica College.
Topics to be covered during the free event include “Contributions of Early African-American Artists,” by visual artist Gabriele Bailey; “The Beats of Ethnomusicology,” by William Carter, Music Department chair at Cal Poly Pomona; and “Comedy and Life in the Latino Community,” by actress and comic Diane Rodriguez, a member of Latins Anonymous.
