CLU Doubles Team Falls in NAIA Championships

Cal Lutheran’s remaining contestants in the NAIA tennis championships in Kansas City, Mo., were eliminated Wednesday. The doubles team of Paavo Salmi and Jason Munro, seeded 14th, won its second-round match in the morning but lost its afternoon match in the round of 32.
Munro and Salmi beat Sean Damer and Mick Veney of Oklahoma City, 6-3, 7-6 (7-0), then lost to Brett Simpson and Lee Holyoak of Lander College, S.C., 6-4, 6-4, in a match that had to be completed indoors because of rain.
