Boyd, DeBree Are Softball All-Americans

Cal State Fullerton pitcher Tiffany Boyd was named to the first team and Titan outfielder Mich DeBree to the third team of the National Softball Coaches’ Assn.’s 1991 All-American team, announced Wednesday.
Boyd, who played at Woodbridge High School, was added to the first team as an at-large selection. Among the other three pitchers on the first team was California’s Michele Granger, a Valencia High School graduate.
Boyd, a sophomore, finished the year 33-8 with a 0.68 earned-run average. She led the Big West Conference in victories and strikeouts (246) and was second in shutouts (16). She also had two no-hitters, including a perfect game.
DeBree, a senior from La Habra High, led the team in hitting (.313 average) and runs scored (33).
Fresno State third baseman Gina LoPiccolo, from Sunny Hills High School, was named to the second team.
