Avery Dennison Corp. said its fourth-quarter net income rose 48%, to $28.5 million from $19.3 million a year earlier. Per-share earnings increased 53%, to 52 cents per share from 34 cents. Revenue for the period ended Jan. 1 rose 15% to $736.7 million from $641.9 million.

For the year, the Pasadena-based maker of self-stick labeling products posted net income of $109.4 million, or $1.97 per share, up from $84.4 million, or $1.46 per share, the year before. Sales rose 10% to $2.86 billion.
