Countywide : Green Card Renewal Help Is Offered
- Share via
The British American Chamber of Commerce is offering an outreach service for immigrants who need to renew their green cards.
The chamber has authorization from the Immigration and Naturalization Service to process renewal forms for the cards on Tuesday and April 7, said Valerie Blackholly, the chamber’s executive director.
Immigrants of any nationality may use the service, she said.
In 1993, the INS announced that those individuals who had received green cards before 1978 must have them renewed by March 20.
The INS faced challenges in federal courts about whether it could demand that the cards be renewed, but the service prevailed on the issue in 1994.
Appointments must be made to use this service.
