Lakes Casitas, Castaic Leading Bass Frenzy
- Share via
Better weather is heating things up for bass fishermen at Southland reservoirs, with the usual big fish coming out of such noted bass fisheries as lakes Casitas and Castaic.
But one of the best bites is under way at Lake Perris in Riverside County. A week after a 14-pounder was caught, several other trophy-sized bass have shown up on anglers’ lines.
The largest in the last week was a 12-pound 2-ounce bass by Scott Brownlie of Apple Valley. A 10-12 bass was pulled out by Bill Burrows of Riverside.
“The 14-pounder was caught at the east end, so guess where all the people are fishing?” said Charlie Lamkin, lake concession manager.
