SEASON AT A GLANCE: The 6-2 forward was one of only three returning lettermen. His brother, Ronald, a senior guard, leads the team in scoring at 23.8 points per game, while Donald is second at 14.4 and leads with 7.8 rebounds. Grant (13-6, 5-1) is tied with North Hollywood for first place in the Valley Pac-8 Conference.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Donald scored 71 points in three games. He had 29 in a loss to Canoga Park (including his team’s 13 in overtime), 17 in a victory over Reseda and 25 in an upset victory over Monroe, then ranked No. 5 in The Times’ regional poll. Patterson made 60% of his shots and had 33 rebounds.
