Cellular City Bought Out by Alert Communications

Cellular City, a Thousand Oaks retailer of cellular phones, paging and voice-mail systems, has been purchased by a Ventura firm, Alert Communications.

Alert sells and services products similar to those marketed by Cellular City and also provides live answering services.

Kim Starr, owner of Alert, said the acquisition was made to expand his company’s sales and also to enter the eastern Ventura County market.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
