OPEC Output Dips: Oil production by the 12 members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries fell slightly in January but remained above OPEC’s long-held but often-ignored ceiling, analysts and industry officials said. Lower crude oil output from two of the largest OPEC members, Saudi Arabia and Nigeria, coincided with weather-related cuts in the North Sea to boost oil prices to their highest levels of 1995. Although oil prices have moved higher this year, mild weather worldwide and high non-OPEC output have restrained the market.
