Police Identify Victim in Fatal Shooting at Restaurant

WESTMINSTER — Police identified the victim of a fatal shooting Sunday night at a restaurant on the edge of Little Saigon as Sang Nguyen of Garden Grove.
Nguyen, whose age was estimated at 18 to 20, was shot in the head by an unknown assailant outside the Dong Khanh restaurant in the 10400 block of Bolsa Avenue at 9:17 p.m., according to Sgt. Tom Pixler. He was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he died about 9:30 a.m. Monday.
Nguyen walked out of the restaurant and was standing in front when an unidentified man left the restaurant and shot him in the head, police said. The suspect then ran to a small, red imported car and fled.
Police said the weapon used in the shooting was a .380 semi-automatic handgun.
