Clifford Sher Keong Shiu; Santa Paula Restaurateur

Clifford Sher Keong Shiu, owner of Mr. Chips Fish & Chips restaurant in Santa Paula, died Sunday after a sudden illness. He was 58.
Born in Canton, China, Shiu moved to Canada when he was 14 years old. Later he came to Santa Paula, where he started Mr. Chips Fish & Chips at 636 W. Harvard St. The restaurant’s specialties include seafood, fish burgers and homemade corn burritos topped with a special hot sauce.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jo Ann Shiu; two children; two brothers; a granddaughter and a niece.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, in Ventura.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Ivy Lawn Cemetery, Ventura.
