Carlin to Attend Naval Academy

San Clemente quarterback Jeff Carlin has accepted an appointment at the Naval Academy, Triton Coach Mark McElroy said Monday.
Carlin, 5 feet 11 and 170 pounds, was a first-team All-South Coast League selection. Carlin completed 51% of his passes for 1,670 yards and 13 touchdowns in 1994.

Alana Kempton, a guard at Whittier Christian High, has signed a letter of intent to play for the Southern California College women’s basketball team, the college announced.
Kempton, a four-year starter and two-time first-team All-Olympic League selection, is averaging 18.6 points for the Heralds.
