IRVINE — Sheriff’s deputies searched Friday for a 32-year-old prisoner who escaped from the James A. Musick Branch Jail.
Michael Steven Brady, a transient serving time for burglary and forgery, escaped from the minimum-security facility near Alton Parkway and Irvine Boulevard at 7:20 p.m. Thursday, said Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. William Francis.
Brady, who is not considered dangerous, apparently set off an alarm when he left his barracks and made his way through a fence. He was due to be released in September.
Deputies searched the area with dogs and helicopters, Francis said.
