County officials said Friday that Eileen T. Walsh has been fired from her job as county finance director and reassigned to a job at the county landfill.
Walsh, who has worked at the county for 15 years--the last five in her recent post with the county administrative office--was placed on paid leave last month after revelations that millions of dollars in interest due schools and cities was improperly diverted to a county-controlled account. She is scheduled to begin her new job Tuesday.
