Ice Traps Tourists on Ship

TOKYO — A 491-ton sightseeing vessel with 270 passengers and crew aboard was trapped for eight hours Monday by blocks of floating ice off Japan’s northern coast.
The Aurora II managed to return to shore under its own power, said Shinichi Hoshikawa of the Maritime Safety Agency, Japan’s coast guard.
