TUSTIN — A gunman stole about $81,000 from a store manager who was just leaving to make a bank deposit Tuesday, police said.
No one was injured in the 2:15 p.m. holdup outside Chick’s Sporting Goods, in the 2700 block of El Camino Real, Police Lt. Walt Wedemeyer said.
The robber and two other men drove off in a white Chevrolet El Camino, Wedemeyer said.
The manager and an employee were leaving to go to the bank when the car pulled up and the gunman got out, Wedemeyer said. He took the deposit bag, containing $81,000 in checks and cash, and the manager’s purse, Wedemeyer said.
