In another Division IV-A game:
Whittier Christian 82, Santa Monica Crossroads 75--Brad Smith had 30 points, including six three-pointers, Trevor Ream had 16 points and Edward Zieman added 14 points for Whittier Christian (17-10), which was 27 of 42 on free throws. Whittier Christian plays Verbum Dei Thursday.
In a Division IV-AA game:
Corona del Mar 66, Encino Crespi 49--The Celts went more than 15 minutes without a field goal in its loss to Corona del Mar at L.A. Baptist High. Crespi (14-12) led, 20-17, with almost six minutes left in the second quarter, when Giandrea Marcaccini missed a slam dunk.
Corona del Mar (16-11) responded with a 36-4 run that ended Crespi’s improbable playoff run. Crespi scored only two points in the third quarter and didn’t make a second-half field goal until David Lins made a short jumper with less than seven minutes remaining.
Four players scored in double-figures for Corona del Mar. Guard Dominic DeGrazier scored 17 points.
Corona del Mar advances to the semifinals, where it will meet Los Angeles Murphy.
