Registration is now open for the Fire Department’s emergency preparedness training course, which runs from Feb. 27 through May 18.
The training is designed to teach participants life-saving skills in the event of an emergency and to help patients survive until other help arrives, officials said. Subjects covered will include emergency preparedness, medical aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and search and rescue techniques.
Students who successfully complete the five classes will be certified as emergency volunteers and can assist during natural and other disasters.
