A Los Angeles man was shot in the face by another motorist in the Crenshaw district Friday afternoon after the gunman apparently was angered by being cut off in traffic, police said. The 30-year-old victim hailed a passing California Highway Patrol car and was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was listed in fair condition with a fractured jaw. His identity was not immediately released.
The assailant, who fled after the shooting, was not apprehended, police said.
The victim told police he was northbound on La Cienega Boulevard near Rodeo Road when he unintentionally cut in front of the gunman’s car. He said that at the next light, the gunman got out of his car, walked up to the victim’s car, made an obscene gesture and shot him in the jaw.
