Four people were arrested after a loud party in Moorpark turned into a melee between several of the party-goers and sheriff’s deputies who were trying to break up the party, police said Sunday.
Monica Ramirez, 23, Kevin Drummond, 18, Tommy Hernandez, 18, and Nicholas Lerma, 19, all of Moorpark, were arrested Saturday night on a variety of charges including battery on a peace officer, police said.
At about 8:30 p.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to a noise complaint at the house on the 300 block of Esther Avenue where Ramirez lives.
Shortly after 10 p.m., deputies who responded to a second complaint were met by a hostile crowd of more than 150 people who refused to disperse or turn down the music, police said.
Several of the party-goers pushed and shoved the deputies, police said.
Fourteen patrol units from surrounding areas and one helicopter were called to the scene to assist the deputies, and eventually the crowd broke up reluctantly, police said.
No injuries requiring medical attention were reported.
