Community Center to Mark 1st Anniversary

La Habra Community Center will celebrate its first anniversary May 1 with an open house from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., including entertainment, raffles and a dance.
The center, at 101 W. La Habra Blvd., was constructed after several old buildings were razed, including the late President Richard Nixon’s first law office.
City officials said they chose to erect the center because the $2 million it cost to build was less than the amount projected to preserve the old buildings.
The center has meeting rooms and reception halls that are rented to the public.
