Snelling Improves

LEBANON, N.H. — Vermont Lt. Gov. Barbara Snelling’s condition was upgraded to serious Monday after doctors repaired a blood vessel that ruptured in her brain during a stroke over the weekend.
It was too early to say if Snelling had permanent brain damage, said Dr. Robert Harbaugh, director of cerebrovascular surgery at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
Snelling, 68, had been running for governor, a post her late husband once held. She suffered a brain hemorrhage Saturday at a meeting of state Republicans.
