GORMAN — After a three-day search, a sheriff’s diving team Tuesday found a body in Pyramid Lake that is believed to be that of a Simi Valley man who fell from a boat there Saturday afternoon.
Craig Moore, 33, fell into the water without a life jacket, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Gabe Ramirez. Once in the water, he said, Moore might have been hit by the moving boat and drowned.
The body was found about 2 p.m. under about 40 feet of water near the entrance to Posey Canyon Cove, Ramirez said. Emergency services divers, who had searched for the body every day since Saturday, had expected to find the body in a cove that is not affected by the current, he said.
Pyramid Lake lies alongside the Golden State Freeway in northern Los Angeles County.
The coroner’s office will attempt to make a positive identification and determine the cause of death.
