Prince Andrew and the former Sarah Ferguson announced that they will divorce. A statement from the couple’s lawyers said the divorce of the Duke and Duchess of York was expected to be final by the end of May. The couple, married in 1986, have been separated since 1992. The couple’s two daughters, Beatrice, 7, and Eugenie, 6, will continue to live with their mother. The 36-year-old prince will “participate fully in their upbringing,” the lawyers said. The 36-year-old duchess has chosen not to be called “her royal highness” after the divorce, the lawyers’ statement said. She will continue to be known as the Duchess of York, it said.
