Nation IN BRIEF : PENNSYLVANIA : Dole Sweeps Up Victory in Primary

Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kan.) easily won the state’s presidential primary. The 73 GOP convention delegates officially run uncommitted, but many were Dole backers, and most, if not all, were expected to back him at the August GOP convention. With 74% of the vote counted, Dole had 65% to 17% for Patrick J. Buchanan.
