Newhall Ranch Review Extended
The Los Angeles County Regional Planning Commission granted a 30-day extension on Wednesday to review the environmental report for the Newhall Ranch Project.
Environmentalists, including the friends of the Santa Clara River and the Sierra Club, had asked for a 60-day extension to read the project’s environmental impact report, which is more than 1,000 pages long.
Newhall Land & Farming Co. is seeking to build what has been billed as the largest development in county history, which could eventually have a population of 70,000.
Planning Commission hearings for the project are scheduled at Valencia High School on Oct. 9 and Nov. 6 at 6 p.m.
