Kennedy High might be looking for a softball coach even though it’s happy with the one it has--or had.
Lee Holden, who in three years brought the Golden Cougars from obscurity to a runner-up finish in the City Section 4-A Division, has been reassigned within the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Holden, who has taught graphic arts at Kennedy for three years, and in LAUSD for 32, was transferred to Sepulveda Middle School. Pete Fries, Kennedy vice principal, would not comment on Holden’s case specifically but said most teacher transfers are prompted by changes in enrollment.
Fries said Holden is attempting to return to Kennedy and that the coaching job there would not be opened until Holden’s status is determined.
Kennedy last year was undefeated in Northwest Valley Conference play.
New mission: Tiffany Thompson, a starting striker and a second-team All-Mission League selection for the Alemany girls’ soccer team as a freshman last season, has transferred to Notre Dame.
