Clipper Coach Bill Fitch, who coached the New Jersey Nets for three seasons, said there’s no significance to playing his former team.
“The only player over there that I coached was [former Clipper swingman] Tony Massenburg,” Fitch said. “Everybody has come and gone except for the trainer.
“A lot of water has gone under the bridge since I left there.”

Center Stanley Roberts, who has missed 151 games over the last three seasons because of Achilles’ tendon injuries, left with 4:41 remaining in the first quarter of Saturday night’s game because of a back injury, but returned to start the second half.
Roberts, who has had lower back problems this season, went to the locker room for treatment.

Clipper guard Malik Sealy, who got his first technical foul of the season in Friday night’s 111-94 loss at Utah, said he didn’t use profanity.
“I told [referee Greg Willard] that he owed me a picnic in the park,” Sealy said. “He owed me a picnic basket and he didn’t bring it and I called him on it.”

Guard Eric Piatkowski, put on the injured list Friday because of flu, did not play in his third consecutive game.
