If Palestine declared independent statehood, how would it support itself? Right now many, if not most, Palestinians earn their living in Israel. Also Israel had to supply arms to the newly formed Palestinian military. In just 50 years, Israel turned the barren wasteland of Palestine into a thriving economy while the Palestinians did little but complain and terrorize Israel, trying to take over everything the Israelis had built.
For their own sake, Palestinians should try to live in peace with whatever independence Israel is willing to grant.
