Corrected results: Several of the region’s top female high school runners were credited with inaccurate places and times in the West regional cross-country championships at Fresno’s Woodward Park on Saturday after a mix-up in the finish chute.
In the revised results, Kim Garnic of La Canada finished 48th in 19:15, Kelly Harrington of Louisville placed 57th in 19:18 and Sheila Maude of La Canada was 65th in 19:23.
Name game: Amber Tubb, a junior from American Fork High in Utah who placed 18th in the West regional cross-country championships, is the daughter of Tim Tubb, 1967 Southern Section 3-A Division champion for Camarillo High.
Out of action: Verdugo Hills High’s Charlie Coronado, a top football receiver who was expected to be the Dons’ best basketball player, will miss the first six weeks of the basketball season.
He suffered a leg injury in Verdugo Hills’ 20-14 football loss to Van Nuys in a City Section 3-A Division quarterfinal on Nov. 27.
