Cinema Ride Posts Its First Profitable Quarter

Cinema Ride, a Studio City developer of amusement rides, said its profit in the third quarter that ended Sept. 30 was $2,300, compared with a loss of $513,900 in the third quarter last year.
Revenue in the third quarter was $1 million, up 50% from $665,200 in the third quarter a year ago.
For the first nine months of this year, the loss was $398,829, compared with a loss of $1 million at the same point last year. Year-to-date revenues were $2.3 million, up 44% from $1.6 million last year.
Third quarter 1996 was the first quarter the company did not post a loss. Cinema Ride has three locations, including an attraction just opened in New York’s Times Square.
