Police on Monday identified a driver who was killed Sunday in a two-car crash on Pacific Coast Highway as Yi Feng Mo, 30.
The crash occurred about 7 p.m. when Mo came speeding up behind a southbound pickup truck and tried to pass, Huntington Beach Police Lt. Clyde Stuart said.
Mo swerved when there was not enough room to pass, losing control and colliding with the pickup, police said.
Mo’s car flipped several times and landed in a parking lot. Mo, whose hometown was not known, died at the scene, Stuart said. His two passengers, Lawrence Saindon, 39, of Huntington Beach and Julian Medina, 30, of Torrance were treated for minor injuries.
Police are seeking the driver of the silver pickup, who left the scene. The pickup was damaged in the crash, Stuart said. Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator Bob Barr at (714) 536-5666.
