In pool play at the Gary Raya Coed Classic:
El Dorado 65, Pomona Ganesha 52--Mike Gartner had 17 points for El Dorado (5-2).
Aliso Niguel 71, Corona 50--Jeff Munsell had 26 points and 13 rebounds for Aliso Niguel (5-3).
Canyon 51, Downey 46 (OT)--Canyon made eight of 10 free throws in overtime to seal the victory.
In the Sonora Cage Classic:
El Toro 67, Edison 57--Fabrizio Mendiola scored 24 points for El Toro (7-0).
Westminster 64, Corona del Mar 62--Brandon Fox scored 25 points for Westminster.
Century 56, Whittier Christian 27--Terrail Zoller scored 17 points for Century (4-3).
Loara 63, Savanna 50--Neil Thomas and Will Hall each scored 14 points for Loara (4-2).
In the Glendora Tournament:
Brea Olinda 87, Redlands 82--Chris McMillan was 12 of 12 from the free-throw line in a first round victory for Brea Olinda (4-2). McMillan scored 23 points for the Wildcats.
In pool play at the La Quinta girls’ basketball tournament:
La Quinta 54, Norwalk Glenn 50--La Quinta (1-2) switched to a full-court press in the fourth quarter and outscored Glenn, 21-10, in the fourth quarter. Nadiya Aziz had eight of her game-high 14 in the final quarter for La Quinta.
Troy 55, Dana Hills 37--Heidi Hardeman scored 29 points for Troy (6-3).
In the Gary Raya Coed Classic:
El Dorado 61, Pomona Ganesha 49--Stephanie Patten scored 25 points and had 15 rebounds for host El Dorado (2-3).
In the Bolsa Grande tournament:
Huntington Beach 56, Newport Harbor 50--Phouangmaly Pravongviengkham scored 21 points for Huntington Beach (4-1).
In the Vista tournament:
University 61, Escondido Orange Glen 48--Monique Mathews had 28 points and a school-record 24 rebounds and Lyz Day made six three-pointers for 18 points for University (3-2).
In nonleague games:
Katella 71, Santa Ana 32--Catherine Painter scored 20 points for host Katella (7-3).
Edison 59, Rosary 45--Michelle Zlystra had 15 points and eight rebounds for visiting Edison (6-0).
In the Magnolia girls’ soccer tournament championship game:
Cypress 1, Corona del Mar 0--Tiffany Dinoso scored off a rebound from Michelle Woiemberghe’s shot with 10 minutes remaining for Cypress (6-1).
In nonleague games:
Foothill 2, San Clemente 2--Allison Halpern scored the tying goal, her second, in the second half for host San Clemente.
In nonleague boys’ soccer:
Huntington Beach 1, Capistrano Valley 1--Aaron McAthy scored a goal as Huntington Beach tied third-ranked Capistrano Valley (6-0-2). McAthy has scored nine goals in six games this season for the Oilers (2-2-2).
Kennedy 4, Savanna 0--Randy Dawson scored two goals and Mike Arreguin had six saves for Kennedy (2-1-1).
Mater Dei 1, Newport Harbor 0--Tony Micheletti scored his third goal of the season in the 50th minute for host Mater Dei (2-0-1).
In nonleague girls’ water polo:
Costa Mesa 20, Kennedy 3--Amy Devey, Allison Alastuey and Jamie Smith each scored three goals for host Costa Mesa (2-4).
